The Fishing School prepares public school elementary and middle school students for success in high school and life by improving their academic performance and life skills; and engaging them and their parents in intensive, multi-year, and research-based out of school time and parent engagement programs and activities.


Words Beats & Life 

Words Beats & Life began as a conference at the University of Maryland in the fall of 2000; our founders worked to create a vehicle to transform individual lives and communities through Hip-Hop.  Today, Words Beats & Life uses a holistic approach to youth, and community development that involves hip-hop artists, scholars, educators, activists, and allies.



Developmental Disabilities Catholic Charities 

Catholic Charities' Developmental Disabilities Services provide opportunities for a fulfilling future to individuals with developmental disabilities. Their programs are designed to support them and their families and caretakers. 




YWCA – Empower Girlz

The "Empower Girlz" youth mentoring and leadership program focuses on Empowering young girls through Mentoring, Prevention, Opportunities, Education, and leadership while providing access to Resources that foster self-realization, academic excellence and optimal health and well-being.




Academy of Construction & Design 

The Academy of Construction & Design puts high school students on the path to careers in architecture, construction, interior design, sustainable building, and facilities management.




DC College Success Foundation - The College Success Foundation

District of Columbia (CSF – DC) is a nonprofit founded in late 2006 to address the critically low college graduate rates of the students in the public and public charter schools of the District of Columbia, particularly in Wards 7 and 8.
