American Graduate films receive Emmy nods

Among the recent 57 Emmy nominations garnered by PBS, a few have direct connections to American Graduate.

POV’s “American Promise” wracked up three nominations for outstanding coverage of a currents news story-long form, best documentary and outstanding editing.

The film, which follows two African-American boys through their private school journey for 13 years, premiered in early 2014 and has continued to be recognized across the country, including at Sundance Film Festival and New York Film Festival.

Besides "American Promise," Independent Lens received nominations for “Medora” for outstanding business and economic reporting long form. The Independent Lens film “Bully” also received two nods for best documentary and outstanding informational programming-long form.
